TV Lecture.

I always knew TV was a huge thing but I never really realized and wrapped my head around it until Miller told us that 97% of Americans have TVs. He also that there are more homes with TVs than with indoor plumbing.  That was a really mind blowing fact to me. Another fact he said that completely unreal was that Americans spend 7 hours a day with the tv on. This was partially weird to me cause I don't really watch TV that often so I thought that was normal but then he comes along and says 7 hours.
I also didn't really realize TV is a relatively new concept. Like it has only been fairly prominent since around the 60's. It's a little weird to think about cause Our generation is used to everyone having atleast one if not multiple TVs and watching it as a time passer. It's strange to think that just a few generations ago they did really have TVs in their normal everyday lives.

Movies Lecture.

Movies haven't really been around for that long if you think about it. They've only been around for a little over 100 years. We have come a very long way with them. We have developed 3-D movies. Like we have developed moving picture that can pop off the screen when wearing certain lenses. That is actually incredible when you think about it.
Also, thanks to Mr. Miller who made me think about movies differently. I always thought it was just a fun thing to do with friends but it actually has all these components. We like to always be first to do everything.

WLKY: Your Online National News Source.

WLKY has an impressive number of national stories for their online database. Their motto is literally "live. local. late breaking." but they're online site has a lot of national stories which is really good because you can get local and national stories all in the same place and there's a really good mix of them both. of course this is bad if you want a lot of local with all the national mixed in. They also have a lot, compared to the others we looked at, of international stories.
While they have a good mix they have relatively less stories than other sources. So if you want a bunch of information WLKY is not the right source for you.
Other the hand, the show has a lot stories reported on air. This is a kind of a bittersweet thing. On one hand, you are getting a lot of info in 30 minutes but you don't get in depth details.

WDRB: Local source.

WDRB is a good news source if you want to know a lot of local stories and happenings.  They had 232 which is the most out of all the sources we looked at. That's 86% of the 271 stories they had aired.
They also aired a lot of social issue and human interest related things. It's not necessarily a bad thing but it's also not the best. I don't really know how relevant the stories were but they most likely weren't all that important compared to other news events that could of been reported on.

WHAS: International news? I think not.

WHAS has only reported one international story throughout the whole 20 days we have done this assignment. The world is current omg going through a very big war and we have scandals happening with international coverage yet they have only reported one story that dealt with international affairs. There is a huge war in Syria and Afghanistan. ISIS is been a huge problem lately and yet they've reported one story. Volkswagen has been dealing with a scandal that has affected a bunch of their cars that they've had to recall and they have reported one story. These are two huge topics that have had multiple big events and they have reported on one thing.

WAVE 3: Good or No?

The news channel I watched was WAVE 3. I would not say it is a very good news source of you want actual newsworthy stories. A lot of their stories were about celeberties and fluff. They weren't really things that matter. And by this I mean, they were not going to affect a lot of the people for a long time. There was one story that they highlighted for almost a whole block about a dog being shot. Although this is sad, it doesn't really affect you unless you are a huge animal rights activist or just generally really passionate about that topic.
They also tended not to update viewers on governmental and political happenings. Over all 20 days they only reported 19 stories about government and politics even though we have multiple elections going on.

Response to Ali's thoughts.

Ali's blog post about binary models asks a lot of good  questions some of which I don't understand myself.  I agree with her view on "why are horizontal monopolies illegal?" She also makes the really good point that we believe everyone does whatever they can to fit in when in reality there are people who are independent thinkers.
Overall her article brings up a lot of good points and is a well written response.
