I always knew TV was a huge thing but I never really realized and wrapped my head around it until Miller told us that 97% of Americans have TVs. He also that there are more homes with TVs than with indoor plumbing. That was a really mind blowing fact to me. Another fact he said that completely unreal was that Americans spend 7 hours a day with the tv on. This was partially weird to me cause I don't really watch TV that often so I thought that was normal but then he comes along and says 7 hours.
I also didn't really realize TV is a relatively new concept. Like it has only been fairly prominent since around the 60's. It's a little weird to think about cause Our generation is used to everyone having atleast one if not multiple TVs and watching it as a time passer. It's strange to think that just a few generations ago they did really have TVs in their normal everyday lives.
